Union Gospel Mission in Ft. Worth has been around for over 126 years and provides food, shelter and supportive services to men, women and children. We have partnered with them in a couple of ways. For over 10 years, we have provided a spaghetti lunch on Good Friday to the UGM residents and the homeless they assist. More recently, we began a monthly men's bingo night with the resident men there. More help is always needed - Join us!
Good Friday Lunch - On Good Friday we provide a spaghetti lunch to the over 300 residents and homeless at Union Gospel Mission. As a special treat we provide ice cream for dessert - something the homeless rarely get and absolutely love. Donations are needed to provide all of the food, and volunteers are needed to cook, serve and clean up the meal. UGM limits the number of volunteers we can have on-site at one time, so you must sign up in advance to get a slot. Volunteers must be 12 years old or older. Contact Trudy Baade here for more info.
Men's Bingo Night - On the 2nd Tuesday of each month, a group of men from St. Laurence put on a Bingo Night for the resident men at Union Gospel Mission. There's prizes and food and a night of fun that the resident men don't normally get. It's a chance for them to interact with Christian men who can bring God's message of love and hope as they start down a new path toward self sufficiency. Contact Swift Lindley here for more info.
