Our Jr. High Youth, grades 6-8, meet every Wednesday during the school year from 5:00-6:00pm in the Youth Room. Afterwards, they have dinner together in the Parish Hall and are joined by many of our parish families.
Junior High is a time of transition in a young person's life. Eyes are opened and ideas about the world are rapidly developed. That's why we think it is so important for our jr. high youth to be surrounded by fellow Christians as they begin to understand life in Christ. Nurturing and encouraging are the main purposes of our ministry to jr. high aged youth.
Each Wednesday evening from our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders meet together to play games, have fun, develop friendships, and study some aspect of God's word. It may be a specific bible verse or it may be broader topic like God's purpose for my life. Whatever the topic is for any given Wednesday, the youth are encouraged in their faith and are challenged to own it more deeply for themselves.
Besides meeting every Wednesday, they participate in many other activities throughout the year, from Diocesan Youth activities such as Fall Rally to different fun or community building fellowship.
The Jr. High Youth Group meets every Wednesday from 5:00-6:00pm in the Youth Room. Then they go to the Parish Hall to have dinner together afterwards. It is absolutely not too late for your youth to join us. All 6th-8th graders are welcome to join in any time. Contact Youth Minister Katie LaPenna here for more info.
