Christmas is for Children is a local charity that matches up families in need with volunteers who sponsor the children and provide Christmas for them.
Our St. Laurence families have sponsored over 100 children each of the last several years, fulfilling each child's Christmas wish list with something that they want, something that they need and something educational.
Christmas literally comes in the door at our St. Nicholas Breakfast on Dec. 2, when our St. Laurence families gather together to drop off all the gifts they have purchased and enjoy a pancake breakfast. St. Nicholas himself comes and visits with our children, teaching them about his legacy of giving. He asks the children to talk about the gifts they brought for others rather than about what they want for Christmas.
Help is needed to organize the sponsoring of the children, the gift collection and the delivery of all the gifts to the drop off location. Contact Kim Cooley here for more info. Help is also needed to put on the St. Nicholas Breakfast. If you would like to help with that, please contact Sarah Oliver or Paige Kirkman.
